There is a list of the tribes of Israel in Rev. 7. The list has Manasseh as one of the twelve, and the tribe of Dan is not there. As one of the twelve disciples was lost, the same happened to the tribes of Israel. When Israel was prophesying over his grandchildren, the prophecy over Dan was, “Dan shall judge his people as one of the tribes of Israel. Dan shall be a serpent in the way, a viper by the path, that bites the horse's heels so that his rider falls backwards. I wait for your salvation, O LORD”. This reference to the serpent and viper has Dan associated with the images of Satan, and the biting of the horse's heel has a reference to the relationship between Satan and Jesus. Dan was also named as having been involved in some of the worst acts of idolatry in the Old Testament. Dan was the only tribe that did not take the land given to them by God. That they ended up dwelling among the tribes of Ephraim and Judah. This is also the same story of Jesus and the twelve disciples, of whom one was lost.
The most likely reason being that Dan did not move into his inheritance and was simply absorbed into the others and disappeared. Dan was lost.
