These four angels or beasts are called Seraphs or Cherubim, and they are powerful types of angelic beings. Ezekiel's Cherubim and Isaiah's Seraphs are likely the same angels, just called by different names in different parts of the Bible. We do not know exactly how many there are in total. We see four, and each has its own individual appearance. Satan is a cherub, so we know of five.
Four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind them: the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight. They are sitting around the throne. On the throne, we have a picture of the father sitting.

The beasts of heaven are an important part of the Bible. They are mentioned in the Old Testament and the New Testament. They are even mentioned in the Qur'an. The Seraphs and Cherubim are cosmic angelic beings that are very close to the Father. They are powerful because they are God's servants. The job of these four is to keep the gates of heaven open. They are the highest rank of angels. The Seraphs and the Cherubim are so close to the Father that they can see his face. They are the only types of angels that are allowed to enter the Holy of Holy's. There are golden images of the cherubim on the Ark of the Covenant to guard it. It is they who kill people who were not allowed to enter the Holy of Holy's. The Cherubim are also the ones who guard the Tree of Life and guarded the Garden of Eden. The one Adam and Eve got the boot. They are covered in eyes, a kind of all-seeing. It is these angels that tell John what the four horsemen are about to do. These horsemen are not new, but they are changing what they have been doing. They are watching over the world to make sure everything is at peace. It sounds very much like the living creatures are controlling the horsemen. Their leaders are in the angelic hierarchy? That would make them Cherubim as well. The word says Satan is a guardian cherub. In Job, when God asks Satan what he has been doing, Job 1 says “The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” This is similar to the horsemen. The Beasts of Heaven, the Horsemen, and the Cherubs, like Satan, are cosmic beings. How many cherubim are there? As we will see, it is a third of the Cherub angels that Satan drags down with him. I think that the number of these angels will be small. A thousand sounds right, and Satan brought down 330 odd with him? Often these numbers are even thousands. 100 million before the throne, thousands of thousands of angels. Jesus could call an army of ten thousand angels if he desired. A million or even a hundred thousand appears far too many. It is either ten thousand or one thousand. A hundred is too small. A thousand is by far the most likely number. According to the book of Enoch, the number of angels that got cast into the pit was around two hundred, and their job was watching. That sounds very cherubim like. That would mean we started with 1000 we lost 200 before the flood. 333 were cast down with Satan, leaving just 467 doing God's work.
